Mist Valley Chiefs After the gruesome attack of the humans the elves fled into the forest, and Faelith realized that they would not survive being on this planet if they would not adjust to it. Using her self-shaping abilities, she sought out the animal that could hunt and provide the remaining elves with food. She chose the wolf, but over time she felt less and less inclined to take her elfin form, preferring the wolf pack as her company. She mated with the wolves, which resulted some more wolfhearted and some more elfin like children. Her wolf-children would eventually be the ancestors to the current wolf pack; her elfin children would populate the tribe. She recognized Keir when she already was more wolf than elf. This resulted in the birth of the wolf like Wolfheart, who was destined to lead the tribe after Faelith chose to run off with the wolf pack, for good. Faelith was a tall, slender elf with bright, green eyes and flaming red, wavy hair.
When Faelith ran off, Wolfheart was barely of age and therefore, he had a lot of compromises to make with the remaining pure-blooded elves who were disgusted with his wolf blood. When he grew older, he realized that the firstcomers and their firstborn pure-blooded offspring were weak, and thus treated them as such. If they could provide their own food, he told them, they had something to say in his tribe and if they could not, it was not his problem. He preferred the company of his more wolf like brethren but recognized the healer Mireth. She bore him a daughter they called Midnight, after her blue-ish black hair. After Faellen had removed Taellin’s wolf blood, he was outraged and made them choose: adapt to the Wolfrider way, or leave the holt. Some chose to leave, amongst them both Mireth and Faellen, others stayed. He forced Faellen to leave Taellin behind with her father Stormdancer, because he thought she was still a wolfrider. After their departure, he recognized Butterfly and together they had several children. Wolfheart was of athletic build, had dark brown eyes and shaggy, reddish brown hair. Midnight had always known she was destined to become chieftess and was raised that way after her mother had left the tribe. Although anxious to know what happened to them, she soon forgot as her wolfblood took over. She was a self-confident, stubborn chieftess who knew what she wanted and how she wanted it. This proved to be a very useful personality treat, because the climate changed and the food was scarce. Her organization skills were better than those of her father, and although the food shortage she managed to get everybody at least something to eat. During the scarce period she recognized Flint and when her son Tailwind was born, she would rather feed him than feed herself. She witnessed the birth of the last pure-blooded elf. After the High Tree massacre, when all elves had fled in panic, she confidently gathered the survivors and decided to move away, following the herds. She had a hard time adapting to the nomadic lifestyle which made her reckless and resulted in her death by an unnecessary hunting accident. Midnight had blue-ish black hair with penetrating, light blue eyes. Seeing the death of his mother left a firm impact on Tailwind, who used to be a speaking tornado. Afterwards, he pulled back his emotions. Although this didn’t happen because of the happiest of reasons, it proved to be a good habit when they followed the herds around. Teaching his tribe that silence was everything, most communications were sends only since then. Tailwind had been on the move since he was just a small boy, and was fully adjusted to the nomadic life. The speed with which he tended to move around earned him his name. He recognized Softsong twice in a very short time, but paid most attention to his eldest son, Lightheart, leaving his daughter Quiver to her mother’s care. Though he pulled his overt emotions away, he was an adventurer and when he saw the huge, rocky mountains covered in snow, he knew he wanted to cross them. Unfortunately, this cost him his life when an avalanche surprised him and his eldest son, Lightheart. Tailwind had darkbrown hair and light blue eyes, and was of a petite build.
Quiver had never learned to be a chieftess because her brother Lightheart was always meant to lead the tribe. She was very shy and insecure, like her mother, when the tribe's elder bound the chief's lock in her hair. Being just a child when her father died, she leaned heavily on the elders of the tribe, especially at first, but she proved to be a worthy chieftess. Though she never really opened up to others, Willowmist kept trying and was the first to reach her heart. Eventually, they recognized - twice. She proved to be a good mother for both of their children and was chieftess at the same time; the tribe flourished. Feeling the urge to settle down, most of her tribesmates agreed and after crossing the last of the Whitecold Mountains, she decided to settle down in a valley thick with trees. The discovery of the human village on a day’s ride nearby was a great shock, especially to the elders of the tribe, and on their advice they took on the rule of den-hide during daytime. A few scouts were sent out to figure out the human’s hunting grounds, which became a strict forbidden area to come. She decided that humans would never know of their existence. This in contrast with the trolls, who spoke their language and were willing to trade food for weapons, on which Quiver happily obliged after making firm arrangements.Quiver died when the valley flooded and while she tried to rescue a cub from the roaring water, which cost the both of them their lives. She had blond hair with a touch of orange, and large violet eyes. Flare was the grandson of Tailwind, and resembled him in nearly every way – looks and personality. He was outgoing, mischievous and flirty, and had troubles with keeping his head at leading the tribe. His father Willowmist gave up trying to get him to focus, but Flare’s impatience and adventurous nature often brought him elsewhere, especially near the troll’s caves. Pulling pranks on them was his favourite thing to do, but when he deceived them with a trade, taking all weapons and delivering no food and even threatened the gatekeeper with a knife, the trades were cut off instantly. Flare was told that no elf would ever enter the caves again and if he would show up, they would take some serious measures. Insulted, he kept on wandering around the troll cave entrances before they shut them down, and when that didn’t stop him from going there, they started to attack the elfin parties whenever they came too near. In this time he recognized Sparkeye, who was his soul mate in everything. But when they came to the troll cave on their adventurous trip to the Whitecold Mountain, they were attacked and both killed. Their bodies were never found, but their clothes, smothered with blood, were. Flare was well muscled and always seemed to have a smile on his face. His dark brown hair was always messy and his violet eyes sparkled with mischief.
