She is moody, short-tempered, quickly to raise her voice and not very patient. She loves shiny things, and all kinds of brightmetal, but what's more, she loves to win them. Fortune is an excellent gambler and can gamble for the things she needs -- food, clothes, privileges. Because of her cunningness of her wolfblood, something which the trolls don't have, she is a very good player, sly and quick. She gets what she wants because gambling. She's also provocative and knows how to play others off against one another. But because of the same wolf blood that makes her ingenious in troll games and her way of survival, she also hardly remembers anything of her mother. She knows her mother is one of the elves kept as slaves, but which one is not important to her. She hardly has contact with the other elves, usually casting a glimpse of them. Another troll-treat that she's developed over the years, is her resistance of dreamberry wine. She prefers to have just the berries though, because she doesn't really like the taste of the troll wine. Sometimes it bothers her that she's different from the trolls, but because she gets what she needs and wants it's not strong enough to start asking questions about any heritage.   History: When she was born, only moments before her brother, Echo was named for her long howl announcing herself to the world -- a howl that sounded all around the troll caves. River announced himself somewhat later. Rivulet couldn't enjoy her cubs very long, because they were taken away after two days. The twins' father, Arrowflight, died when he tried to prevent the trolls from taking them. When it became clear that Rivulet had collapsed because of the loss of her recognized and her two cubs, they returned River to her, to have something to live for. When it was proven it worked, the trolls called Echo Fortune, because they believed that was what she was going to bring them. While growing up, Fortune soon learned to take care of herself. None of the trolls really wanted to take care of an elfin child, and besides, they had enough work with the two young trolls who grew up alongside Fortune. The two pestered her but she didn't complain, because she pestered them in return by being quicker and showed more supplesse. Fortune soon discovered her interest in the games of the trolls, and when she found out there were things to be gained with, she hid in a niche when the trolls played. When she was confident she could play the game with the dices and knew about the cheats and catches, she placed a bet that she could win from one of them. She won, and over the years she used the game to get what she needed first, like food and clothes, but afterwards started to play for trinkets, jewelry and status. Curious at best, she asked to see the slaves once after she won, but after visiting the slave quarter she vowed never to return. One of the slaves had called her Echo, some of them looked like wild animals and the quarter was filthy. In the last years, being different from the trolls sometimes bothered her, but not enough to ask around. She is respected for her way of playing, and is satisfied with her life.
