Over her usual clothes she wears a long buckskin jacket trimmed with white fur and wears thick gloves of the same fur. She has good brown boots with a strip of black on the outer sides and a long scarf in creamy yellow, and sometimes a special wintertime hat of brown fur.
Thin Clothes (Spring/Summer):
A long tunic in moss green with yellow sleeves, decorated with frills. Her trousers are mustard-yellow and patterned with darker tan “shadows”. Wears moccasins. Within Holt proper, she likes to wrap her wintertime scarf as a sash around her waist.

Character & History
Personality:
Confident, wry-humored Greendream is equally at ease among the tribe and pack and out on her own in the woods she loves. She has a keen nose and good memory and few can equal her familiarity with the world around the Holt, its fauna, flora and terrain. She is attentive to all goings-on, to subtle changes in colours and scents, and is proud of her extensive knowledge. A little solitary and contemplative by nature, she isn’t always eager to share her insights and has a tendency to treasure her secrets.
While her tribal function as herbal healer is important in her mind and she does well in it, her bedside manner is lacking. She’s more interested in the cure than the patient, sometimes. Greendream isn’t unfriendly, though, she easily takes pity on small, lost things. Her interest in making spices, dyes and wines leads her to greater involvement in tribal life as she looks to the other elves’ needs and interests.
Greendream is not looking forward to being a proper elder and has little patience for teaching younglings. She gives her advice freely when asked, and asks for advice just as easily, delighting in shared projects in things she’s not as good at, such as baskets or traps. Pranks make her grin quietly rather than laugh and she’s often a willing if hidden partner in them. She does hunt, but prefers to tackle small game rather than go out with a group, unless some special prize is involved.
History:
Born to the Holt’s last herbal healer, her father died when she was less than a year old and little Sprout and her mother were extremely close. Woodstar taught her daughter everything she knew. Her death by hunting accident, when Sprout was 13, was devastating and Sprout had never grown so close to anyone again, becoming quiet and a little secretive. She became a child of the tribe after that, and had to learn a lot on her own. She acquired a habit of going into the woods for nights at the time to learn their secrets first-hand, until she was barely seen at the Holt and the tribe began to call her Greenshadow.
It took her many years to feel ready to fill her mother’s place, and she herself was surprised when she managed to save a tiny cubling who’d chewed on a poisonous root. She confessed that she hadn’t realized how much she could give to the tribe – and how much she needed it. The name change to Greendream was a symbol of her new, adult understanding.
She had several lovematings earlier in her life, one of them even lasting a good number of eights-of-turns, but the woods always called her with the louder voice and she never felt the need to settle. She gained a reputation as a “fur-chiller” for leaving her lovemates alone in the den many times, till she decided to “end this nonsense” by declaring herself unavailable to more than a passing tryst. Today she’s quite humorous about it and still claims to be waiting for a mate who won’t mind “sharing” her.
Greendream was one of those who spoke most fiercely against Flare’s deception of the trolls, and though she tries not to say so, she feels he got what he deserves. Her respect for Halfnote has been growing steadily with every year of the chieftess’ leadership and she cares for her a great deal. Recently, the greatest concern on her mind has been finding an apprentice – she was hoping to teach her own cub as her mother taught her, but so far no cubs have been forthcoming and she’s thinking past that.
