Special Posessions: Raven's hair decoration, which she keeps safely in her den.   Weapons: Longbow, knife, javelin.   Preferred Weapon: Longbow.   Character & History   Personality: Halfnote is a sharp, canny elf with the right attitude to lead a tribe -- she learned so over the years. Thoughtfully making decisions, often with the backing of her elders, she is a clever lady. Her elfblood and wolfblood are well balanced, but sudden events in her life can disturb that balance, for instance, when her lifemate Raven died. She sometimes feels that it is her fault for trying to make contact to the trolls. Apart from a leader, she was a strict but caring mother, and raised Slyfox as a chieftess' son. She is not the type that shows affection easily. Halfnote has a soft, hoarse voice because of an illness and therefore, prefers to send. Her sending abilities have grown ever since she was a cub, since it was the only thing she did for a while. She believes that everyone has something good inside of them, but that this is just hard to see sometimes. Therefore, she forbids her tribe to seek out human parties and come close to the troll areas. This character treat did convince her that she could seek out the trolls but that had desastrous results, and she won't probably ever try so again. She is still sometimes found weaving. She finds it relaxing and it's a form of escaping the life as it is when her elfblood takes over. S   History: Halfnote was born as Bee, and was born into the chieftess' family when her brother Flare was already over a 100 years old. Although he liked having a sister, he wasn't really interested in spending time with her when she was a cub, but she adored him and would follow him everywhere he went. This way, she tended to disturb many lovemakings and games with her childish innocence. This changed when he tricked her into following him into the forest when she was 11 years old. The trip gave her a grave cold, which resulted in a throat infection which nearly lost her her voice. The healer was able to remove the infection, but some damage was done already. She would have a soft, hoarse voice for the rest of her life and made her barely able to howl with the wolves, often slightly off-tone. Her brother jokingly called her Halfnote for it, and she kept the name to remember it by. Afterwards, she found it harder to show some affection, since she learned the hard way how someone could abuse you when you loved somebody. Halfnote was eager to learn about weaving and gained skills in the process. She was strongly opposed to her brother's way of tricking the trolls, warning him it could end in disaster -- which it ultimately did. She was with Flare when he put the knife on one of the troll's throat, and was near them when he died, because she had known he would do something foolish. Quiver, her mother, had taught her daughter well, as well as her son, so Halfnote knew what to expect of her duty when she took over the chief's lock, but she felt out of place at first. With the help of the elders and her tribe, she developed a good idea of leadership. Raven was one of the elders Halfnote sought out for support. With some self-wit, he called himself an old wolf and would give her a hard time figuring out her own path, but he called that learning from experience. He lost his lifemate centuries before, and never love- or lifemated again until he recognized the young chieftess. Although their lifemating was not always easy, they loved each other deeply. Slyfox was born first, and he was still a youngster when his brother Starblaze was born. Raven believed her when she convinced him that though Flare deceived the trolls, they might be willing to negotiate now he wasn't chief of the Wolfriders anymore. Sadly she misjudged the trolls, and Raven died when she failed to try to reason with them. She was devastated, pulled into her wolfthought and mourned his death, but when she realized, after a few long nights, she wasn't the only one grieving, she took up her duties again. She is still a bit reserved and the emptiness in her life weighs heavily upon her shoulders, but she tries to cope with it. He gets slower over the years, though, but still loves a good hunt. He's very fond of Halfnote, but not too close. You won't see him cuddling around, but he likes it when he's needed.
